The Monongalia County Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) was established by the West Run Zoning Ordinance on November 2, 2010.
The BZA is charged with hearing Administrative Appeals, as well as Variance and Conditional Use Requests. The Committee meets quarterly in January, April, July, and October, as well as Special Meetings as required.
Members of the Board of Zoning Appeals are appointed to three-year terms by the County Commission. In addition, members must reside within the portions of the county that are zoned for at least three years prior to appointment. BZA members are volunteer citizen planners dedicated to developing a shared vision for sustainable development in Monongalia County.
